In the Agile world, leadership is not about being the boss, being right or having the power. Within the Agile domain, being in a leadership position means you are there to help your team win any way possible.
Often, folks who come up through the ranks in the project management profession feel they are entitled to having control, power or any other type of dominance over the way the project is carried out.
In fact, this is true of projects run under a traditional project management style in which the last thing that people are looking for in the team work, but rather, just getting the job done.
Consequently, being a leader in the Agile and Scrum world means that you need to check your ego at the door. If you are able to let your ego sit in the backseat, then you will have a great chance to lead your team in such a way that they will be successful.
